Michael Madsen, Director


Born 1971 - Film director and conceptual artist.
Documentary director of a.o. the award-winning To Damascus – a Film on Interpretation (2005). Founder and artistic leader of the Sound/Gallery, a 900 square meter sound diffusion system underneath the Town Hall Square in Copenhagen (1996-2001). Selected art projects include: ‘Audience (van Gogh#7)’, design of SPOR 2007, festival for new music and sound art, and ‘Public Service (van Gogh#6)’ Phase 1: Concept for a new music library in Odense, Denmark.
In addition, Michael has been guest lecturer at The Royal Danish Academy of Art, The Danish Film School, and The Danish School of Design.

 

 


Lise Lense-Møller, Producer


Producer, founder, and CEO of Magic Hour Films.
Lise has produced over 50 films - both documentary and fiction – many of which have been award winning and many of which have been international co-productions.
In addition, she has a long track record in professional education a.o. as expert and group leader for EAVE, an EU post-education for independent producers with 3 annual international workshops.
Lise is a central figure in the Danish and European film business and also engages in national film politics, a.o. as a  board member of a the Producer’s Association.

Set up in 1984 by producer Lise Lense-Møller the company has produced and co-produced a wealth of documentaries many of which have are award-winning, such as BURMA VJ – Reporting From a Closed Country. Documentary film by Anders Østergaard, that brings us close to Burma’s undercover video journalists who delivered the images during the massive uprising led by Buddhist monks in September 2007. Awards: Joris Ivens Award and Movies that Matter, IDFA 2008, Dox Award and Amnesty Award, CPH:DOX 2008. Danish Academy Award, 2009 Editing award, Sundance World Documentary Competition, 2009, Cinema for Peace International Human Rights Film Award, Berlin, Danish Golden Globe, Boulder IFF Grand Prize, Vaclav Havel Award, San Francisco – Best Investigative Documentary and 10 other international awards.
