A wast number of other organizations exist in relation to nuclear power, nuclear waste and nuclear safety, but although some also include government institutions and eg. the Western Industrialized Nations, they are also either industry related or anti-nuclear.
Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority is the organ of the Finnish state, which oversees the construction of ONKALO, approving it in it’s different stages. It is STUK, which suggest the various legislation to be implemented by the Finnish Parlament concerning nuclear waste and nuclear safety.

The Finnish Posiva OY is the company behind ONKALO. The technical concept behind ONKALO is called KBS-3, and is originally a Swedish concept, but now in collaboration with SKB, the Swedish pendent to Posiva. Various reports on conservation and knowledge transfer carried out by SKB, see fx:

Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository was one of the only other advanced projects into a permanent solution for nuclear waste, untill it was halted by Barack Obama. Among other things concerning permanent nuclear waste facilities, may be interesting to note, that is seems that the different legal system is eg. the US and Europe in it self gives way to different ways of thinking, just as in the US the main focus on warning has been on markers and not archives, as in Europe – perhaps because Europa has some historical experience in this field where US, as a relatively young nations, has none.

SETI, the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, is an exploratory science that seeks evidence of life in the universe. Such work has the same communcation questions as in the nuclear waste issue: To whom do we speak, how do they think. It is not a coincidence that some of the persons involved in the initial communcation research linked to nuclear waste, the WIPP (Waste Isolation Pilot Plant, defence related nuclear waste, 10.000 years), overlap.
